Leeds are preparing for their first Premier League match of the season on Monday as they welcome Everton to Elland Road.

It will no doubt be a difficult fixture for Daniel Farke’s side, with the Toffees boasting numerous star names, including Jack Grealish.

However, Leeds will take solace in the fact that Everton have had a poor pre-season, which could give them an edge on Monday.

Ahead of the match, Farke will be hoping as many players as possible are available, with the manager now providing an update on Jayden Bogle’s fitness.

Going into the new campaign, Bogle is likely to going to have a more defensive role as Farke evolves his tactics from last season.

However, Bogle picked up an injury in pre-season, which has kept him out of friendlies against Villarreal and AC Milan.

Now, the full-back is against the clock if he wants to take part in Leeds’ first Premier League match of the season against Leeds.

Ahead of the match, Farke told Leeds on 15 August that Bogle could receive minutes on Monday if he makes it through training.

Leeds vs Everton will be shown live on Sky Sports Premier League, kick-off at 20:00

He said: “It was a late decision with Bogle. Out for 2.5 weeks with injury.

“Part integrated into team training on Weds. He will join full training session this afternoon, then we will see how his body reacts.

“If he comes through these next four sessions, then he’s got a chance to grab proper amounts of minutes for Monday.”

On top of Bogle, Leeds have had plenty of other players suffer from injuries this pre-season.

Thankfully, Dan James, Lucas Perri and Jack Harrison all made their returns last weekend in the 1-1 draw against AC Milan after minor knocks.

Sebastiaan Bornauw was the other absentee, with it being unknown how long the new signing will be out for.

Apart from the centre-back and Bogle, Leeds should have a fully fit squad for their match against Everton.

Hopefully, this will result in three points for the Peacocks on Monday.
