Manchester United midfielder Toby Collyer has joined West Bromwich Albion on loan, with the 21-year-old set to spend the 2025-26 campaign with the Championship outfit.
Collyer had been heavily linked with Hull City, and it did appear that the Tigers had won the race for his signature, but West Brom have managed to get the deal done, with the move officially announced on Friday afternoon.
"Manchester United midfielder Toby Collyer will spend the 2025/26 season on loan with Championship side West Bromwich Albion," read a statement from the 20-time English champions.
"The 21-year-old will gain valuable experience with the Baggies, in what will be his first temporary spell away from the club since joining our Academy in March 2022."
Collyer made 13 appearances for Man United during the 2024-25 campaign, including six outings in the Premier League, but his development will continue in the Championship.

West Brom sign Collyer on loan from Man United
The midfielder told West Brom's official website: “I spoke with the gaffer Ryan Mason and I got a really good first impression from him.
“Albion seems like the right place and the right environment for me and I’m hoping to play as much as possible. This is a great opportunity for me to help the team and take my game to the next level, which I’m really excited about.”
Meanwhile, Albion's sporting director Andrew Nestor said: "Toby is a dynamic midfielder who we rate highly and believe that his strengths will complement our already strong midfield options.
"He is an ideal central midfielder for our playing model with his physical attributes, progressive play and passing ability, and has the capability to make a real impression this season."

Does Collyer have a long-term future at Man United?
Collyer has shown promise during the early stages of his Man United career, but he does need a season of regular football, and West Brom look to be the perfect fit for him.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, there is no buy option included in the agreement, as Man United view him as a key part of their future, with a spot in the first team during the 2026-27 campaign certainly a possibility.
