Dubravka injury latest ahead of FPL Gameweek 1

Martin Dubravka (£4.0m) signed for Burnley from Newcastle United earlier this month as a replacement for James Trafford (£5.0m).

However, the budget goalkeeper was not part of Scott Parker’s squad in their final pre-season friendly against Lazio last week.

Prior to his arrival at Turf Moor, Dubravka did not take part in Newcastle’s pre-season tour of the Far East due to a shoulder injury, and his last game for Eddie Howe’s side was a friendly against Celtic in July.

Parker didn’t discuss Dubravka’s match fitness during his press conference on Thursday, but did say last week that his three newest arrivals – Dubravka, Armando Broja (£5.5m) and Lesley Ugochukwu (£5.0m) – had “been training on their own a little bit” and that the Clarets “don’t want to take any risks.”

In Dubravka’s absence, Vaclav Hladky (£4.0m) started the Lazio friendly in goal, before Max Weiss (£4.5m) came on at half-time.
