Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (10) hands off the ball to running back Chris Brooks (30) against the Jets during their football game Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
With this being the case, Love will not be playing for the remainder of the preseason, and it will be interesting to see if he will be ready for Week 1 against the Detroit Lions or not. He had to miss a couple of games in 2024 because of some injuries as well.

Rob Demovsky of espn.com covers the Packers and released a critical update about Love’s thumb injury. Demovsky said,
“After dealing with injuries for much of last season, Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love did not want to go into this year with any nagging ailments.
That’s why he decided to undergo surgery on his left thumb (non-throwing hand) this week after he sustained a ligament injury in Saturday’s preseason opener against the New York Jets.
Love said the surgery, which took place in Los Angeles on Tuesday, was to repair his ulnar collateral ligament.”
He has not thrown since the procedure. The Packers will start Malik Willis in the next preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts. Willis started in a couple of games last season for Green Bay with Love sidelined. Hopefully, with Love already undergoing surgery, he will be ready for the Week 1 matchup against the Lions.
