Alexander Isak To Liverpool Could Happen After £42.5m 'Transfer Chain Reaction' Begins

Liverpool are currently making efforts to sign Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, who wants to leave St James’ Park.

Arne Slot will be preparing for his first game of the season against Bournemouth. It comes after he has overseen a generational transfer window for Liverpool, where they have managed to add top, world class targets such as Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez and more, and they are still trying to do more business.

Liverpool want to sign Isak from Newcastle, who has been left out of Eddie Howe’s squad for the Magpies’ first game of the season against Aston Villa. It is understood that Isak wants to join the Reds, but Newcastle will only be willing to sell once they get a worthy replacement.

The Magpies did go after Benjamin Sesko to be Isak’s replacement, but the Slovenian striker instead opted to join Man United instead, despite the Red Devils not having European football. However, the Reds are about to see a huge boost to Isak’s potential transfer chances.

Brentford signing could spark Isak ‘transfer chain reaction’

Based on the fact that Newcastle need to find a replacement for Isak, their current efforts involve Brentford striker Yoane Wissa, who is not training with the Bees as he wants to move to St James’ Park this summer.

However, having already sold Bryan Mbeumo, Brentford were only willing to sell Wissa too if they managed to find adequate replacements for both players. They already signed forward Thiago to replace Mbeumo, and have now agreed a deal to sign Bournemouth attacker Dango Ouattara. BBC Sport are reporting a fee of £42.5m for their new talisman.

Seeing as Brentford have found their replacement for Wissa, that gives the green light for Newcastle to sign the Bees striker. As you can probably work out, that transfer chain reaction ends in Liverpool being able to sign Isak, as Newcastle will have found their replacement in the form of Wissa.

To many, the Ouattara to Brentford signing was just another Premier League move, but the implications it could have further down the line, make it one of the biggest deals of the summer.
