Man City predicted XI vs Wolves; Ederson call made amid transfer twist and four debuts made

Manchester City could field a new-look starting XI in their Premier League opener against Wolves on Saturday with Ederson potentially set for a transfer exit.

City are looking to win back their Premier League title after falling away last season, and have strengthened their squad over the summer.

However, goalkeeper Ederson has told the club he wants to join Galatasaray on the eve of the season, and that could open up a club debut for summer signing James Trafford.

City also added Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri and new number ten Rayan Cherki to their squad this summer, while Kevin De Bruyne has departed. So the starting line-up at Wolves could have a new feel to it.

James Trafford could make Man City debut as Ederson asks for Galatasaray transfer

TBR Football understands Ederson has asked Manchester City to leave and join Galatasaray, which is likely to put his involvement against Wolves in doubt. New signing James Trafford can make his debut after re-joining the club from Burnley.

Trafford came through the City academy and featured on the bench six times under Pep Guardiola without making his senior debut. Impressive spells at Bolton and Burnley saw him return to City and he could now have a chance to become the new number one.

City will look to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma, especially with Stefan Ortega linked with an exit, but Trafford appears best placed to replace Ederson at Wolves.

Likewise, as Savinho is linked with a transfer to Tottenham, City could look at other options on the wing at Wolves.

Four players could make Premier League debuts for Man City as Rodri decision made

Rodri was omitted from City’s only pre-season friendly as a precaution and Pep Guardiola doesn’t expect him to play 90 minutes at Wolves.

Phil Foden has returned to training after an ankle knock but also may not be risked. Josko Gvardiol is another doubt, so Rayan Ait-Nouri can make his Premier League debut for City at the home of his former club.

With Trafford in goal, a City back four could see former Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes at right-back, Ruben Dias and John Stones at centre-back, and Ait-Nouri on the left.

Summer signing Tijjani Reijnders can make his domestic debut for City alongside Bernardo Silva in midfield, with Rayan Cherki also playing his first Premier League game at number ten.

Omar Marmoush and Jeremy Doku can rotate on the flanks, with Erling Haaland leading the attack.
