(WVUE) - Jameis Winston didn’t need a huge stat line to make headlines after his preseason debut with the New York Giants. Instead, the veteran quarterback had fans cracking up with a mix of hilarious photos and a spot-on Heisman Trophy pose during the team’s 34-25 win over the Buffalo Bills.
Winston, who joined the Giants this offseason after a one-year stint with the Cleveland Browns, came in for Russell Wilson in the second quarter and finished the day with seven completions for 62 yards and a touchdown.
Social media lit up after Winston posted a photo from the game showing him in midair, arm outstretched, nearly identical to the famous Heisman Trophy stance he struck as Florida State’s star in 2013.
Fans flooded the comments with jokes, memes, and praise for Winston’s ability to have fun on and off the field, with one writing, “Nobody in the world hates Jameis Winston. God really favors this man and we all see it.”
Other photos showed his trademark lighthearted personality in a team photo shoot.
“Bro pose like the stock image of a football player on Google,” one user wrote.
