With the window beginning to tick along nicely for Everton, David Moyes’ side have just lost out on a target.
The Friedkin Group have managed this window effectively, not spending too much but bringing in the right players.
Moyes doesn’t want to sign ‘bad players’ and clearly wants to make sure the right signings are coming in.
This has been a mistake made by Everton previously, as many flop transfers can be counted on plenty of occasions.
But there is also the case of missing out on players completely, and a star the Toffees have been after for a while is now on his way to Wolves.

Everton ‘looked at’ Jackson Tchatchoua but he’s set for Wolves move
Jackson Tchatchoua has been a name on the Blues’ radar since Sean Dyche was at the helm.
Everton supposedly launched a £6.7m bid for Tchatchoua in July 2024, as the right-back has been of long-standing interest.
The right side of defence is certainly somewhere that needs strengthening, as Everton.News asked transfer expert Graeme Bailey the latest on the pursuit of a full-back, and the Cameroonian’s name crops up.

“Yeah, they are trying – I know they looked at Jackson Tchatchoua, but not sure it went too far,” Bailey said.
“There has been late interest from Everton – but he is heading to Wolves”
Wolves joined Everton in the race for Tchatchoua, and it seems like they overtook them, with Fabrizio Romano also claiming he’ll be joining Vitor Pereira’s side, with a £10 million deal in fruition.

There seemed to be a last-minute throw of the dice from The Friedkins, as concerns are heightening.
Everton are in desperate need of a right-back this season
It seems like Wolves were always leading the race, but the Toffees throwing in a late attempt says it all.
Following Jarrad Branthwaite’s six-week injury, it’s clear that Jake O’Brien won’t be able to fill in at centre-back, as he will more than likely play at right-back for the start of the season.
Adding to this, Nathan Patterson also has a hernia issue, which leaves the Blues desperate for a new right-back with unique alternatives on the table.

Everton’s three most likely right-back options for the start of the season
Making matters even worse, Leeds United are in ‘advanced talks’ with James Justin, who was someone else on Moyes’ radar.
The frustration is only continuing, and despite nailing down other areas, this position is one that is proving very tricky.
