Liverpool will kick off the 2025/26 Premier League campaign when they welcome Bournemouth to Anfield on Friday evening.
Arne Slot waltzed to the league title with relative ease during his maiden year at Anfield and will boast a host of star-studded additions to his side as he aims to reclaim the Premier League crown.
Despite the loss in the Community Shield, Liverpool will be overwhelming favourites heading into the clash against Bournemouth, with Slot expected to name a strong starting line-up.
Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike dazzled at Wembley and will play an integral role for the Reds as they prepare to line up alongside fellow newcomers Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez.

However, many believe Liverpool now have a squad capable of competing across all fronts as Michael Owen offers his prediction as to how many trophies Slot can win this season.
Michael Owen expects Liverpool to win the treble
When speaking to the Premier League’s official website, the former Liverpool star offered his “bold” prediction for the upcoming season, which involves a treble-winning campaign for Slot.
“I think they’re streets ahead at the moment. I know Paris Saint-Germain won the Champions League last season and beat them on the way there, but I’d have Liverpool as favourites to win it this season. They’re also my Premier League favourites and I think they could win three of the four competitions they’re in.”
Liverpool transfer target Alexander Isak scored the eventual winner of the 2024 Carabao Cup final for Newcastle United against the Reds, denying Slot the chance to win two pieces of silverware.
At one stage, the Reds had emerged as one of the favourites for the Champions League last season, having topped the league phase. However, as Owen mentioned, PSG would progress after a penalty shootout at Anfield, following questionable decision-making from Slot.

Nevertheless, the Dutchman proved he can take Liverpool into the deep stages of cup competition, excluding the FA Cup exit at the hands of Plymouth, and he achieved this feat mainly with the squad left behind by Jurgen Klopp.
Now, Slot has put his own stamp on the Reds, and as he attempts to win the Premier League in successive seasons, the frivolous summer spending spree conducted by Richard Hughes has seemingly raised expectations to win multiple pieces of silverware this season.
Liverpool want to sign more players before the transfer deadline
As exclusively revealed by TBR Football, Giovanni Leoni will sign a six-year deal at Anfield after Liverpool agreed a £30 million deal with Parma for the 18-year-old.
The Reds are also negotiating with Crystal Palace for Marc Guehi, but the England international is likely to remain at Selhurst Park to see out the final year of his contract.
Liverpool have embarked on a dream transfer window for the supporters, and this summer’s exploits will undoubtedly go down in the record books at Anfield.

Patience will be needed, as all the Reds’ new arrivals, except Kerkez, will require time to adapt to life in English football. However, it is difficult to deny the excitement among the fan base.
Whether Liverpool win one trophy or three come May, there is a growing belief that Slot will be adding to his trophy cabinet this season.
