It's tough to tell what exactly is going on between the Golden State Warriors and Jonathan Kuminga. If one thing is for sure, the Warriors don't want to give Kuminga the role or money he's looking for.
Perhaps Steve Kerr is justified in not playing Kuminga as much as he'd like, as he's one of the few coaches in NBA history to have a good reason for doing so. All Kerr has done is win.
On the flip side, Kuminga is a young player and wants to be valued as much as he can be, understanding that it's tough to stay in this league.
Sports Illustrated's Mark Morales-Smith proposed a trade idea to end the saga in a three-team deal involving the Chicago Bulls and Indiana Pacers. However, the deal would see the Warriors move on from more than just Kuminga, which might not be something Golden State is willing to do.
Warriors Receive: Obi Toppin, first-round pick
Pacers Receive: Nikola Vucevic, second-round pick
Bulls Receive: Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, Jarace Walker
"The Warriors get to move on from the Kuminga saga and avoid any locker room discourse. They would be getting back another solid forward to fill the void left by Kuminga. While Toppin may not be as good, he is a better fit as a role player than Kuminga is. Picking up a first-round pick would lock this deal up on their end," [he wrote](https://www.si.com/onsi/fantasy/nba/warriors-deal-jonathan-kuminga-chicago-bulls-3-team-nba-mock-trade).

Getting Obi Toppin back wouldn't be bad, as he can hit the 3-point shot and is excellent at the rim.
If anything, he could be a starter in Golden State, paired with Stephen Curry, as he'd open up the floor in multiple ways.
