The New York Knicks have plenty of intriguing options to fill out their roster, and it might be the perfect time to pounce on a perfect fit.
Last season, the Knicks managed to finish as the third seed in the East before making their first run to the conference finals since 2000. While they soon fired Tom Thibodeau and hired Mike Brown as his replacement, it’s hard to believe that the Knicks won’t be in the championship picture next season.
With the same starting five set to return for next season and Mitchell Robinson also set to be around again, the Knicks have even added some key depth. With Guerschon Yabusele and Jordan Clarkson coming in to complement some of New York’s other pieces, Brown will have plenty of options at his disposal.
If the Knicks take the suggestion from [Empire Sports Media](https://empiresportsmedia.com/new-york-knicks/knicks-have-window-to-acquire-gem-free-agent-combo-guard/)’s Matthew Legros, they could soon have yet another important contributor off the bench. Legros noted that now might be the perfect time to take a swing at De’Anthony Melton.
Perhaps known best for his couple of years in Philadelphia, Melton’s two-way prowess makes him a seamless fit for the Knicks as a backup option for Jalen Brunson. While Melton has long been expected to head back to Golden State, where he began last season, the Jonathan Kuminga saga is holding things up, and New York should be ready to pounce if Melton gets tired of waiting.
There might not be any actual window for Melton to make his way to Madison Square Garden, but that shouldn’t stop the Knicks from trying.
