Although Tottenham missed out on the trophy by the smallest of margins, Thomas Frank was ‘proud’ of the effort his boys put in considering it was the first game of the season. It was clear to see that the players understood the assignment, and were also adjusting the tactics depending on how PSG were responding. The game against the French giants has laid down a solid foundation for the rest of the season for the North London club.

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank would have been happy with the way his team fought against one of the best teams in Europe. The Lilywhites were within touching distance of causing an upset, and winning the final would have sent shockwaves across England. However, it was not meant to be for Spurs. But that does not mean that the North London club should be less proud of their efforts.
Now, Thomas Frank has taken the opportunity to heap praise onto his players for adapting to his system quickly. Speaking in his pre-match presser (as transcribed by Football.London), Frank said,
“One thing is the mentality of the group. Very strong mentality and we saw that against PSG, the way they worked and their approach to it. Also, the ability to take on messages and game plans.”
The Spurs manager pointed out that the players in the squad have a strong mentality. Thomas Frank then added that his men were not willing to give up against PSG and showed great character to adapt to the system and execute all the plans. The Danish tactician also noted that the players were able to take on any messages sent from the dugout and they managed to convey that on the field.
