Chelsea begin their Premier League season when they welcome Crystal Palace to Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The Blues finished fourth in the top flight last term and have since won both the FIFA Club World Cup and Europa Conference League.
Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens are among those to have arrived at Stamford Bridge since the start of the summer transfer window, while Noni Madueke and Kepa Arrizabalaga are some of those that have departed.
Now, it has emerged that a Spanish side have made an offer for one of Chelsea’s defenders.
As per Fabrizio Romano, La Liga side Villarreal have made a formal offer for Blues defender Renato Veiga.
He claims that the Spanish side’s bid for the Portuguese falls short of Chelsea’s valuation, with negotiations between the two clubs likely to be difficult.

Veiga, 22, joined Chelsea from Swiss side Basel in 2024 and has since made 18 appearances for the West London side across all competitions.
He was sent on loan to Italian outfit Juventus in January, and featured 15 times for the Old Lady during the second half of last season.
Romano claims that the Portugal international is keen on the idea of a move to Villarreal, although it remains unclear whether or not the move will happen as the two clubs are some way apart and unlikely to reach an agreement.
Veiga, who is regarded as Villarreal’s dream transfer target at centre-back, is under contract at Stamford Bridge until the end of the 2030/31 campaign having signed a long-term deal when he joined the club.
