Liverpool 'in talks' over £25m attacker sale to PL club

Liverpool winger Ben Doak is reportedly close to joining AFC Bournemouth before the end of the summer transfer window.

Leeds United and West Ham United have also been reportedly linked with a move for the 19-year-old, but it appears that he is moving to the south-coast team.

Doak spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough, where he made a significant impact and caught the attention of several Premier League clubs, including Crystal Palace.

Liverpool rejected a bid in the region of £20m for the Scottish winger in January, but he could now be heading towards the exit door.

The left-footed winger appeared to have impressed Arne Slot in pre-season training, and there were suggestions that he could get regular game time this season.

According to a report from BBC Sport, the Cherries have opened talks to sign the Scotland international.

The Reds have slapped an asking price of £25m, and the youngster is expected to be left out of the squad for Liverpool's Premier League opening game against Bournemouth on Friday.

Doak should seize the opportunity

Since moving from Celtic in 2022, Doak has made 10 appearances for the Reds in all competitions.

The six-time Scotland winger is behind Florian Wirtz, Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah, Federico Chiesa, and Hugo Ekitike in the pecking order, and he needs to play regularly to reach his full potential.

Liverpool have sold Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Caoimhin Kelleher and Jarell Quansah this summer, and it appears that they are prepared to offload Doak as well.

The Reds have a good relationship with the Cherries, having signed Milos Kerkez from them in the summer, and Doak would benefit moving there.

**Harvey Elliott could reportedly leave the club**before the end of the window, and if that happens, Liverpool would need more depth in their attacking areas.
