The Cameroonian midfielder is viewed as the primary target for Ruben Amorim’s side, but the Portuguese manager is now ready to £50 million raid his former side Sporting CP for their midfielder Morten Hjulmand.
Manchester United are not yet done with their transfer business, with a piece or two still missing from their plans. A new midfielder is imperative for the Red Devils ahead of the new season, as that is one area that is weak in Ruben Amorim’s setup.
Carlos Baleba is the key target for Manchester United, with Brighton reportedly demanding as much as £120 million for the midfielder. The Seagulls are not keen to sell him in this window, but the pressure is truly on them to make that decision, given that the Cameroonian is open to the switch.

Amorim knows Hjulmand all too well from their time together at Sporting CP, and the midfielder is well aware of the rigours of the manager’s midfield setup. The report states that should the Red Devils bring in the Dane, they could potentially use the extra cash on someone like Gianluigi Donnarumma.
