Jonathan Kuminga breaks his silence regarding contract dispute

Jonathan Kuminga’s contract dispute has taken up much of the Golden State Warriors’ time this offseason, with Kuminga himself now chiming in.

Amidst the chaos, [Kuminga took to Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/p/DNWUL94JwSy/?igsh=MXBhY2dxdmFwaDNvaQ==) to post photos of him training and working out. He kept the caption simple, saying “Enjoyment #justknow.”

Kuminga is likely trying to indicate that he is unbothered by the stalemate between him and the Warriors. The two sides have struggled to come to an agreement on a deal, and given head coach Steve Kerr’s lack of trust in Kuminga — taking him in and out of the rotation — he likely isn’t in a rush to sign back with the Warriors right away.

Many teams have shown interest in the 22-year-old forward, including the Sacramento Kings, and Chicago Bulls. Kuminga has shown flashes of being a potential rising star when he has gotten playing time, except that’s been the main issue.

Last season, Kuminga averaged 15.3 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in 47 appearances (10 starts). Kuminga struggled to get consistent playing time, and saw his minutes and role decrease as the season progressed, which only helped grow his frustration with the team.

With the team acquiring Jimmy Butler at the trade deadline last season, the need for Kuminga has gone down significantly for the Warriors. Given this, and the fact that Kuminga has been frustrated with his lack of playing time, it doesn’t appear likely that he’ll be suiting up for the Warriors next season barring an unforeseen resolution being met.
