The Golden State Warriors have had a quiet offseason — really quiet.
In fact, the Warriors have yet to make a single transaction all offseason. The biggest headlines have come from the contract stalemate between the organization, and Jonathan Kuminga, with neither side indicating that they will budge anytime soon.
Per [Sam Gordon of the San Francisco Chronicle](https://www.sfchronicle.com/sports/warriors/article/steph-curry-talks-warriors-inaction-calls-20818339.php), the team’s superstar, Steph Curry, isn’t phased by the lack of activity.
“It’s different, for sure,” Curry said. “But my confidence is built on the identity we were able to create over the last third of the regular season last year and the playoff journey.”
According to Gordon, Curry also mentioned a need for the Warriors to add more pieces to help shape out the roster in order to contend next season.
The ongoing negotiations between the Warriors and Kuminga has halted the team’s ability to make other moves. Curry put it simply, saying “you control what you can control.”
“The veteran presence that we have — me, Jimmy (Butler), Draymond (Green) — we understand how to prepare through that uncertainty and hit the ground running in training camp knowing we should have some movement by then,” Curry said, per Gordon.
Nonetheless, Curry and the Warriors are preparing to get next season underway regardless of what moves they eventually make. Time is running out for the Warriors to win another championship during the era of Stephen Curry, so adding more key pieces to the group will be essential if they wish to contend this year and beyond.
