According to Shams Charania of ESPN, the Heat sent the 28-year-old forward and a 2032 second-round pick to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for a protected 2026 second-round pick.

Highsmith played an important role for the Heat last season, averaging 6.5 points and 3.4 rebounds in roughly 24 minutes per game.

He spent the last four seasons with Miami and will now enter the final year of his contract, worth $5.6 million, with the Nets.
