Everton manager David Moyes has shared his blueprint for getting the best out of Manchester City loanee Jack Grealish this season.
Jack Grealish fell out of favour under Pep Guardiola last season, resulting in his loan switch to Everton for the 2025/26 campaign.
In addition, the Toffees are reported to hold a £50million option to sign the Manchester City winger.
Moyes also said he hoped Grealish could emulate one of his former on-loan success stories from City’s rivals Manchester United.

David Moyes hopes Jack Grealish can be his new West Ham-era Jesse Lingard
Moyes, speaking ahead of Everton’s Premier League opener away at Leeds United, said his aim was to get Grealish in a “creative position” where he can provide goal contributions.
The Toffees boss also challenged Grealish to emulate what Jesse Lingard did at West Ham United under his tutelage.

“He looks the same – big calves! You will have to turn up on Monday [to see if he will be involved against Leeds],” Moyes told reporters on Friday.
“I think Jack can play in several positions, as a midfielder [as well as a winger]. My aim is to get Jack in a creative position where he can score and assist goals.
“It is a big challenge for Jack and I am looking forward to seeing how he responds to it.
“The best one I can think of is when I brought Jesse Lingard to West Ham.
“He was probably not expected to be too successful, and maybe a little bit worn down, but I think he scored something around 10 goals in 12 games and got himself back in the England team.
“If Jack can do a bit of the Jesse Lingard, it will be a great story. It is a World Cup year and he is in good enough shape. I just need to get him enough time.”

Manchester City fans will hope David Moyes can work his magic on Jack Grealish
For context, Lingard enjoyed one of the best spells of his career when he went on loan at West Ham in the second half of the 2020/21 campaign.
He registered nine goals and five assists for the Hammers, putting him firmly back into England contention.
However, Man United weren’t willing to part company with Lingard that summer, and so he didn’t sign permanently for West Ham.
This ended up backfiring as Lingard barely featured the following season and ended up leaving on a free transfer.
Moyes clearly has what it takes to bring the best out of out-of-form players, and it’ll be in City’s interest for him to do so with Grealish.
Should Grealish enjoy a superb season under Moyes at Everton, they’ll be more inclined to take up the option to buy him.
Alternatively, he would return to City with his stock high once again, which would put him in the shop window for a big-money move elsewhere.
