Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid has had a more or less unfortunate professional career in the NBA.
Highlighted by his 2023 NBA MVP award and seven All-Star Game namings, the former no. 3 overall pick in 2014 has been largely plagued by injuries, which included him missing his first two NBA seasons, not debuting until 2016.
And the fact that he has only played 58 of a possible 164 regular season games the past two seasons is very much a cause for concern for the Sixers.
However, when he is 100 percent and on the floor for Philly, he's arguably one of the best centers, behind really only Denver's Nikola Jokic.
Despite the tidbits of success he has acclaimed in his time in the pros, former NBA guard Jeff Teague doesn't believe that the Cameroonian is a lock for the Basketball Hall of Fame, and he was very vocal about it on his [Club 520 podcast.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=4&v=0DOnwTe-ZK4&embeds_referring_euri=https%3A%2F%2Fheavy.com%2F&source_ve_path=Mjg2NjY)
“He’s done after these three years for sure," Teague said. “He's missed so many games, though. Missed years; he missed three years. He missed his whole first year or something. That boy ain’t never played 70 games. He might not make the Hall of Fame, bro. How many points he scored? 12,000 ain’t that many, I scored 10 thousand.”
The former MVP recently underwent another surgical procedure on his meniscus in April, his second in the past year.
