Struggling Eagles Starter Seems Officially Replaced Ahead of 2nd Preseason Game

For once, the Philadelphia Eagles appear far away from any offseason stories or drama. Winning a Super Bowl and paying all of your players market value will have that effect on a franchise. Philly has done a nice job keeping all of its weapons together while maintaining strong lines on both sides of the ball. It is a bit part of the reason why fans believe that this wasn't simply one magical run, but perhaps the start of a run of dominance.

Playing in two of the last three Super Bowls is unquestionably a step in this direction, and the Eagles have been aided by a devolving NFC East. The Giants and Cowboys are both building in the wrong direction and don't appear to be anything resembling a threat. While the Commanders had an incredible 2024 run, Jalen Hurts is 2-0 against Jayden Daniels when healthy. This includes a complete domination in the NFC Championship.

Still, if there is one legitimate threat remaining to the Eagles, it is the Commanders. Making the offseason drama between the franchise and star receiver Terry McLaurin far too exciting to ignore. The idea of the franchise fumbling such an elite player excites Philly fans who have respect for the accomplished pass-catcher.

"I think we're kind of at that point to where we need to start getting those guys, when they're available, out there and jelling to see where we are as an offense."

Eagles Rival Growing Impatient with Offseason Drama

---------------------------------------------------

The Eagles simply couldn't be any happier if this fight leads to an exit or perhaps aids a slow start for a division rival. Regardless of how it plays out, there is no arguing that it works to the benefit of Philly and the rest of the NFC East. It will be interesting to see if the Commanders finally give in or continue to hold. For rival OC Kliff Kingsbury, the answer appears clear, with the coach having the following to say on the situation:

> "I think we're kind of at that point to where we need to start getting those guys, when they're available, out there and jelling to see where we are as an offense."

> Kliff Kingsbury Washington Commanders OC

Kingsbury makes a fair point that this is when you want to have everyone healthy and begin to take not only camp, but also preseason reps. Getting McLaurin and Daniels back working together and on the same page is pivotal. This is especially the case with all the new pieces the Commanders brought in over the offseason.

Making it an important story to watch, and one Philly fans can only hope continues to devolve for the only legitimate concern to the franchise's continued NFC East dominance.
