Guardiola’s side kick-off the 2025/26 campaign against Wolves at Molineux on Saturday with a 17:30 (UK) kick-off.
After the end of the 2024/25 season, the players took some time away to head to the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.
Since returning back to training, the squad have been working at the CFA with a behind-closed-doors friendly against Preston and the Anglo-Palermitan Trophy win over Palermo in Sicily.
While it was a shorter than normal pre-season, Guardiola is happy with how the squad have got ready for the season.

“We had a short preparations, but the preparation was good,” the manager said in his pre-match news conference.
“We didn’t travel, we’ve been training here, really good. We had two friendlies and maybe we should have more but we didn’t have time.
“Open your eyes to training things, training concepts for the season, because we have a lot of games and that’s why I prefer to stay at home and train good and energy for 11 months that we have ahead of us.”
