Anthony Richardson sending shocking message

The Indianapolis Colts are holding a quarterback competition between Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones. Both quarterbacks are competing for what very well may be their last opportunities to be starters in the NFL.

Earlier this offseason, Colts general manager Chris Ballard suggested that he doesn’t think Richardson is quite where he needs to be yet to be given the keys to the franchise.

“I just think eventually Anthony’s going to be who we think he can be,” Ballard said, via Zak Keefer of The Athletic. “I still believe that. Whether that’s this year or next, I don’t know when it’s going to happen.”

However, that didn’t shake Richardson’s confidence.

“I’ve just got to work as if I am going to be the Day One starter,” Richardson said, according to Pro Football Talk. “Regardless of what decision they make, I’m still working, trying to improve. They’re going to make the best decision for this team, and that’s what we need.

“This team wants to win the Super Bowl. It’s not about me, it’s about the team. I’m just working as if I am the starter, and if I don’t get the job, you know, glory to God.”

Richardson’s mindset appears to be paying off, as now, his teammates are saying that he’s having his best training camp yet, but he still wants to improve.

“I would like to agree, but there’s still a lot of room for improvement. I’m nowhere near where I want to be. Yes I’ve improved but there’s still work to be done.”

It’ll be interesting to see if this is the season where he finally puts it all together.
