NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Tennessee Titans came away from Atlanta with a 23-20 victory.
Joey Slye booted through what turned out to be the game-winning, 23-yard field goal early in the 4th quarter.
Rookie quarterback Cam Ward played three series in the game. Unlike the opener in Tampa Bay, Ward did not lead a scoring drive.
He completed just two passes on seven attempts. Ward’s biggest play was a 35-yard completion to fellow rookie Elic Ayomanor.
The Titans got on the board first thanks to a Kendell Brooks 53-yard interception return for a touchdown.
Slye then missed the point-after attempt.

Second-year inside linebacker Cedric Gray started the game for the defense and made the most of his opportunity. Gray got in on an early sack of Falcons quarterback Easton Stick. He also had seven tackles in the game and had an interception wiped away by off-setting penalties.
Titans rookie tight end Gunnar Helm made the play of the night for Tennessee when he went up in double-coverage and hauled in a 25-yard touchdown pass from Brandon Allen.
The Titans will finish up their preseason slate with a home game August 22 against the Minnesota Vikings.
