Patrick Mahomes is about to embark on his ninth NFL season with the Kansas City Chiefs, still chasing that fourth Super Bowl ring.
Mahomes played only two snaps in the Chiefs’ 2025 preseason debut and could get some action on Friday night when Kansas City takes on the Seattle Seahawks.
Ahead of the game, Mahomes’ foundation, 15 and the Mahomies, announced the 15 winners of his scholarship program. 15 total scholarships were handed out “to support five outstanding high school seniors in each of three key communities: Kansas City; Tyler, TX Area; and Lubbock, TX Area.”
Each Class of 2025 student received a $10,000 college scholarship, bringing the total to $150,000.
The recipient list is as follows:

Sydnee Hayes – La Salle
Taylor McKenzie – Northwest Missouri State
Tiara W – UMKC
Carolina Smith – ETBU
Emerson Hurley – Texas Tech
Brandon Miles – Texas A&M
Jose Rodriguez – UTSA
Bryson Perkins – Oklahoma
Carolina Hernandez-Acosta – Texas Tech
Solomon Owuor – Texas Tech
Addison Andrews – Accounting
Gunnar Stanton – Lubbock Christian
“Congratulations to our inaugural 15 and the Mahomies Scholarship Award recipients!” 15 and the Mahomies wrote on Instagram (IG). “15 outstanding students from the Kansas City, Tyler (TX) & Lubbock (TX) areas will each receive a $10,000 college scholarship. The best is yet to come! 🌟”

NFL fans took notice of the scholarship recipients, taking to social media to leave their congratulatory comments.
“My man, thanks for your scholarships and congrats to those who have received them,” one fan said.
“This makes my heart swell. Beautiful,” added another.
“Awesomeness!! Congrats to all!” wrote a third.
“That’s awesome! Bring it to Kilgore Patrick!” commented a fourth on IG.
“So awesome! Way to go @15andmahomies 👏🔥,” chimed in a fifth on IG.
“Congratulations winners!!❤️ Thank you @patrickmahomes @15andmahomies for such an amazing scholarship!” wrote a sixth on IG.

Mahomes and the Chiefs will have one more preseason game after Friday’s matchup. Then, they will open the regular season on Sept. 5 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, facing the Los Angeles Chargers.
