Eagles star fires off on Myles Garrett

The Philadelphia Eagles and Cleveland Browns held a couple of joint practice sessions this week. It was during these joint sessions that Eagles left tackle Jordan Mailata squared up against star Browns pass rusher Myles Garrett.

Garrett impressed Mailata to say the very least.

“There’s no one like Myles,” Mailata said, via NBCSportsPhiladelphia.com. “So you can’t apply what Myles does to anyone else. Cause he’s just a freak. He’s a freak.”

Mailata expanded on what it was like to face off against such an elite pass rusher.

“It was kind of just like this: Lose-win-lose-lose-lose-win-lose-lose-lose-win,” he said. “That’s just how it felt like. … And I just kept on saying, ‘Keep it pushing for the next play,’ and, ‘Keep trying to just do your job and then we’ll fix it up later.’”

“You can’t mimic what Myles does,” he added. “I mean, I sound like I’m just glazing this bloke. I’m just saying, he’s just different. You can’t imitate that. He’s just one of one, that guy.”

NFL fans reacted to Mailata’s take on social media.

“He never apologized to Mason Rudolph. Great player, lousy person,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“No one drives as fast as him,” someone else added, referencing Garrett’s recent speeding ticket for driving over 100 miles per hour.

It’ll be interesting to see if Garrett can bring home another defensive player of the year award this season.
