Leeds United are back in Premier League action in just a couple of days, and they continue to do business in the transfer window in preparation for the new season.
Former Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has become the eighth new signing at Elland Road since the start of the summer. The 28-year-old has joined on a free transfer from the Toffees and could face his former club in the season opener on Monday night (8pm kick-off).
But the Whites are not done there with the club working on other transfers before the September 1 deadline. They continue to be linked with potential incomings, while there are also reports around possible exits.
With that in mind, LeedsLive have taken a look at a couple of the latest stories doing the rounds. We’ve also given our opinion on the situation.
James Justin price
Leeds United are closing in on a move for Leicester City full-back James Justin. As reported by Leeds Live talks are at an advanced stage and it is understood that it is progressing well.
Justin was left out of Leicester’s squad for their Carabao Cup clash against Huddersfield on Wednesday night.
Earlier in the summer, when Everton were linked with an interest in the full-back, it was claimed by the Times that he would cost around £6 million. That’s the sort of price that Leeds are therefore likely to pay.
LeedsLive say : A transfer for Justin will bring both versatility and experience to Leeds’ backline. The defender has played almost 100 games in the Premier League for Leicester and was a key player around the time they were challenging for Europe.
However, injuries have impacted the player and he has not quite hit the levels he has previously. £6 million for an experienced Premier League defender in the final year of his contract I think is a good deal all around.

El Khannouss deadline passes
Moving onto another Leicester player who has been linked with a move to Leeds is Bilal El Khannouss. The Whites held talks about a possible transfer, but there doesn’t seem to have been any progress.
It’s reported that the Morocco international’s release clause, which is worth more than £30 million, expired on Friday. Any interested clubs therefore look to have missed the deadline.
LeedsLive says : If reports are true and the release clause has now expired, it puts more control in Leicester’s hands around what they can demand for the midfielder in the final weeks of the transfer window.
The Foxes could now potentially demand a bigger price, given that they will have less time to find a replacement. The club will still be hoping to keep hold of him beyond the summer.
