Newcastle United are interested in Paris Saint-Germain star Goncalo Ramos.
Ramos has been linked with Newcastle United for what feels like an age and is said to be a target once again.
Newcastle want to sign at least one forward during what remains of the summer transfer window. They need to replace Callum Wilson and potentially Alexander Isak too, with the Sweden star desperate to leave St James’ Park.
Yoane Wissa could potentially become Newcastle’s Wilson replacement, while Ramos would surely have to be viewed as the replacement for Isak.
Now, an update in regard to the Portugal international has emerged.

Newcastle United interested in Goncalo Ramos
According to The Daily Mail, Newcastle are still interested in Ramos despite the fact “sources” previously indicated he was no longer a major target.
It’s claimed that “intermediaries” have suggested a move could be possible during the limited time remaining in the summer transfer window.
PSG would rather sell the former Benfica forward as opposed to initially loaning him out, and it remains to be seen if Newcastle can agree with the French giants.

The report goes on to say that signing two strikers would allow Isak to join Liverpool.
Goncalo Ramos has confirmed he doesn’t want to leave PSG
Ramos is not a regular starter for Luis Enrique’s side, which is perhaps why a move to Newcastle may appeal.
Last season, he started only 16 times across all competitions. Enrique has preferred using Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue and Bradley Barcola as his starting options and signed Georgia superstar Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli in January.
Still, the striker has already made his intentions clear. Speaking after the UEFA Super Cup win over Tottenham, the PSG star said: “I’m staying at Paris Saint-Germain this summer.”
Ramos cost PSG around £56million and he’s since scored 34 goals in 87 games for the club.
