Everton 'monitoring' late swoop for Tottenham player, he wants PL stay - journalist

Everton are keeping an eye on the midfielder market in the remaining weeks of the summer transfer window.

David Moyes has a couple of days remaining until his side gets their 2025/26 campaign underway against Leeds United.

However, the deadline for any last-minute additions to Everton’s matchday squad for the trip to Elland Road has now passed.

Jack Grealish could make his Everton debut against Leeds on Monday evening, but Moyes kept his cards close to his chest after a midweek team news leak.

One thing the 62-year-old would admit was his desire to add even more new signings, though.

Everton are set to lose out on Douglas Luiz to Nottingham Forest, but there is another midfielder who is reportedly on their radar.

Everton eyeing Tottenham Hotspur’s Yves Bissouma

Everton have already signed Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall over the last week or so, but more midfield additions are on the radar.

This comes with Moyes opening the door to Harrison Armstrong’s exit on another loan deal to the Championship.

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Everton are ‘monitoring’ the situation of Yves Bissouma at Tottenham Hotspur.

It is claimed the Mali midfielder could be on the move before the end of the summer, with West Ham United also keen on him.

Bissouma’s time in north London could be coming to an end, but the 28-year-old is keen to remain in England.

Everton have already shown interest in Bissouma this summer, but it now looks as if the player could be pushed out before the window shuts.

This is as a result of some disciplinary issues, which Moyes would certainly have to take into consideration.

Yves Bissouma recently disciplined for Tottenham lateness

Just this week, Bissouma was disciplined by Spurs as he was omitted from the Super Cup squad to face Paris Saint-Germain.

The midfielder was dropped like a stone by new manager Thomas Frank who has already grown tired of Bissouma’s consistent lateness to training.

“Bissouma isn’t here because of disciplinary reasons. He has been late several times, the latest one too many,” Frank said earlier in the week.

“We need to give love and have demands but there have to be consequences. There’s a been a consequence, we will follow it up when we get home and park it for now.”

This is not the first time Bissouma has been disciplined, with Ange Postecoglou also having some issues with the player.

He would arrive on Merseyside with plenty of experience, but Moyes would be taking a big risk given the ongoing problems he has caused behind the scenes for his managers.
