Bayern Munich are reportedly ‘in talks’ to sign Chelsea winger Christopher Nkunku.
The France international played a major role for the Blues during the Club World Cup, and it felt like he would remain at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer.
Nkunku was among six players who were left out of Chelsea’s squad against Bayer Leverkusen in the pre-season friendly, and he is expected to leave the club.

Nkunku almost certain to leave Chelsea
The 27-year-old was restricted to just nine starts in 27 Premier League appearances in 2024-25, and he is expected to further drop down the pecking order following the arrivals of Jamie Gittens, Joao Pedro and Liam Delap.
Furthermore, Chelsea is looking to sign Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho, and they consider Nkunku as surplus to requirements at the club.
Bayern Munich were keen to sign him during the January window, but the Bundesliga giants were unwilling to pay £60m.
Chelsea are ready to take a ‘big hit’ on their initial £52m investment, and they are willing to offload him at a significantly lower fee than what he paid back in 2023.
Bayern Munich in talks to sign Nkunku?
After Kingsley Coman left the club to join Al-Nassr, Bayern are now looking to bring in another new attacker, and they have reignited interest in Nkunku.
Bayern have focused on signing VfB Stuttgart forward Nick Woltemade this summer, but the German club rejected their latest offer.
As a result, they have turned their attention towards signing Nkunku, and as per Florian Plettenberg, the Bavarian giants are in talks over a potential deal.
Christian Falk informed CFBayern that Nkunku wants to move to Bayern. The German giants feel that he would be a good investment because he can play in multiple roles.
Nkunku could even be a backup option for the injured Jamal Musiala. Bayern already made contact with his agent, Pini Zahavi.
The key factor will be to find the proper structure of the deal, with Chelsea willing to sell him for around £35m plus add-ons.
