'Hopefully': Pep Guardiola shares one final plea to Everton after securing Jack Grealish on loan

Everton fans could see Jack Grealish make his debut on Monday evening against Leeds United.

The 29-year-old forward only signed earlier this week, but David Moyes will surely be keen to get him straight into the XI.

It is believed Everton could be paying around £15m for Grealish in loan fees this season, with the option to buy at the end of the term.

Speaking to the media on Friday, Moyes would not admit whether Grealish would start, after the 62-year-old had already seen some big team news leaked.

Everton have some really exciting attacking options at their disposal for the new season, with Grealish marking the real statement signing.

Having left Manchester City behind for the season, Pep Guardiola has shared one final message to Grealish before Monday evening.

What Pep Guardiola said about Jack Grealish’s Everton move

Everton are expected to use Grealish as the number 10, with a new right winger also on the radar for Moyes over these final weeks of the window.

Fans will be eager to see the former England international in action, in what is a hugely important season for the 29-year-old.

Speaking on Friday in his own press conference, Guardiola spoke publicly about Grealish’s move to the Blues.

“I wish him all the best at the traditional club that is Everton”, he said.

“Hopefully, he can play, play and play. This is the reason that we decided [the loan move] was best for him. To take minutes and play, play and play.”

Paul Merson already expects Grealish to be a success at Everton, with the 29-year-old being handed a real opportunity to find his love for the game again.

There will still be pressure for Grealish to perform, but he will certainly see the shackles taken off from the demands of playing at Manchester City.

David Moyes has been impressed with Grealish

The new Everton signing has only had a few days to train with his new teammates at Finch Farm, but Moyes likes what he’s seen already.

“He looks the same, big calves,” Moyes joked.

“You need to turn up and find out [whether he starts]. That’s what everyone needs to do.”

Grealish spoke to Wayne Rooney ahead of the move to Everton and has even taken his former number 18 shirt.

There is a lot to like about Grealish’s move to Everton, but the proof will be in the pudding.

Many will expect Grealish to start on Monday night against Leeds, given what he could add to this Everton side.

One thing is certain, Guardiola wants to see Grealish play.
