Dominic Calvert-Lewin has penned a three-year deal at Leeds United after his release from Everton earlier in the summer.
Another centre-forward was required to bolster Daniel Farke’s ranks, and Leeds United made the addition of Dominic Calvert-Lewin to fulfil that requirement ahead of the Premier League season.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein has confirmed the details of Leeds’ deal for Calvert-Lewin amid interest from Sunderland in the ex-Everton man.
Calvert-Lewin has detailed why he joined Leeds over Sunderland and other Champions League offers, while the other details of how a Leeds and Calvert-Lewin agreement was struck have since been revealed.

Of course, after reportedly having high wage demands to leave Everton, Calvert-Lewin signing for Leeds has been confusing to some. That’s especially significant after reports of European interest.
The South Yorkshireman has instead joined Leeds, and there are fans online questioning the move to West Yorkshire already.
On Calvert-Lewin’s Instagram, he said: “An extremely proud day for me and my family signing for this great football club. Elland road…My new home. I can’t wait to get started. LEEDS LEEDS LEEDS!!!”

There was also the following exchange. One stated: “Poor move for you this, I think you thought you would have several European teams in for you but none came knocking.”
Calvert-Lewin replied: “They did. And I chose Leeds. MOT”

Can Dominic Calvert-Lewin face Everton for Leeds on Monday night?
Calvert-Lewin has not had a pre-season, so is very likely to be lacking in any match sharpness ahead of Monday’s game against his former employers.
Farke has already made a Calvert-Lewin admission regarding his fitness, with Lukas Nmecha also having a poor injury record in recent years as well.
However, Zinny Boswell of Sky Sports confirmed via Sanny Rudravajhala that Calvert-Lewin has been registered in time to face Everton. Farke has not confirmed he will be involved but a debut is possible.
Calvert-Lewin has addressed his fitness issues already to Leeds fans concerned, but surely a debut from the bench is in the offing against the Toffees?
