Wolves v Manchester City: Gut Feelings

Finally! After a long summer, the Premier League season finally returns and with it…Bitter and Blue’s gut feelings.

Last season, Thomas took the title from Saul’s grasp, recording an incredible total of six spot-on predictions. In his debut season, Will finished second and got five correct predictions, while Saul finished third this time around. Pete didn’t get one solitary prediction right last season and must do better.

As always, you, our readers, are invited to join in too, just pop your prediction in the comments section and you’ll be added to the table. The scoring is:

4 points for a perfect score or

2 points for a correct result

1 point for the right number of goals

1 point for a correct goal difference

Who will finish top this season? Pete will of course, and that prediction is about as good as all of those made last season.

Wolves will be a tough opening test for City and with Spurs next followed by Brighton away, City will need to get off to a great start in the Midlands. Wolves have lost two key players over the summer and questions of where their goals will come from have been asked.

However, they still pose a threat and City will have to be at their best if they are to walk away with the three points.

As always, our team are on hand to give us their gut feelings and predictions as the long road towards May, and the Premier League title, begins. Here’s what we think for the opening day.

Tough, tough match out of the gates, City need to be really focused and up to level. I think they get a tight albeit nervy win, 3-2.

City to start the season in winning fashion! I expect a few of the new boys to catch the eye as the Blues begin the season with a comfortable victory

**Wolves 0-2 Manchester City**

Wolves last season were fantastic after Pereira came in, but there’s been a serious talent drain at the club this summer and I just don’t think they’ll be particularly great this season. Give me an exciting City performance to start off the season, Manchester City 4-1 Wolves.

Here we go Blues!! It’s hard to know what to expect from City early as we step into a new era. No KDB, no Super Jack, maybe Edrson gone as well. The additions looked very good during the WCW. I’ll take our side to get off on the right foot against wolves, with major contributions from Reinders and our new number 10, Cherki.

Tough match to begin with but it could be worse. City have had an indifferent record at Wolves but it’s better than it used to be. The Blues have a history of starting strong and I think it will continue on Saturday.
