West Ham United have been told to expect an offer for at least one midfielder within the next couple of days, according to information given to C&H this morning.
Despite speculation of an Ajax move for unwanted midfielder Edson Álvarez, it is expected that there will be a significant offer from an SPL club for Andy Irving. As we reported on Tuesday, Irving, Guido Rodríguez and Álvarez are all available for transfer, but the only approaches West Ham have received for the Mexican have been tentative loan enquiries.
Rodríguez is expected to leave the London Stadium within days, but it’s Scotland international Irving who has attracted the most attention. Both Rangers and Celtic are believed to be interested in the 25-year-old, and a £3m offer would be accepted by West Ham.

A transfer source spoke exclusively to C&H this morning, saying: “Rodríguez is closer to leaving, but there will be a solid bid for Irving made after the weekend. West Ham have only had loan bids for Álvarez — I think they’d let him go if the initial loan fee was big enough.”
Celtic are currently believed to be favourites to sign Irving, with West Ham already rejecting a £2.2m bid from an unnamed club.
