Manchester City kick off their 2025/26 Premier League campaign on Saturday evening when they take on Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.
Pep Guardiola's side finished third last season, relinquishing the Premier League title they had won in the four previous seasons, and they will be keen to regain the crown.
With champions Liverpool getting off to a winning start on Friday with a 4-2 win over Bournemouth, City will be determined to start their season with a win and not to lose any ground on matchday one.
But they will have to do so without some key players. Here is a look at the current injury situation at the Etihad Stadium.

Savinho
Injury: Unknown
The Brazilian winger has been linked with a summer transfer to Tottenham Hotspur but, regardless of his next destination, he won't be playing for City this month.
Guardiola confirmed in Friday's press conference: "Savinho is injured from Palermo. [A] few weeks he will be out."
Estimated return date: Mid-September
Josko Gvardiol
Injury: Unknown
The Croatian international defender missed the trip to Palermo although it is unknown what injury he is struggling with.
Nonetheless, Guardiola confirmed on Friday that both Gvardiola and his compatriot Mateo Kovacic would miss the trip to Molineux.
Estimated return date: Wolves (a) - Saturday, August 16
Mateo Kovacic
Injury: Achilles
Kovacic missed the FA Cup final defeat to Crystal Palace in May and hasn't played for City since. An Achilles injury is feared to keep him sidelined for another two months.
"He had an injury and missed the cup final," Guardiola said. "He thought rest would help, but it didn't. Pain and swelling appeared concerning the heel tendon."
Estimated return date: Unknown
