Man Utd reduce Antony asking price

Reportedly, Man Utd have dropped their asking price for Antony to push the winger closer to the exit door. The Brazilian could now leave for far less than the club originally paid.

Man Utd ready to take a huge loss on Antony

Manchester United are prepared to take a major financial hit to move Antony on, according to reports. The winger joined for a huge £82m just three years ago. He is now valued at only £30m.

It’s a drastic fall that underlines just how badly things have gone for both player and club. United’s board are keen to cut ties as quickly as possible. Antony is viewed as one of the so-called bomb squad members with Jadon Sancho, Tyrell Malacia and Alejandro Garnacho. Rashford, by contrast, has already made a surprise move to Barcelona. Now, the rest remain stranded at Old Trafford with little clarity about their future.

For Antony, the relationship with the club seems beyond repair. Reports suggest he could be left frozen out if a transfer doesn’t go through before the window closes.

Betis move complicated by wages

Antony’s heart appears set on Real Betis. The Spanish outfit would welcome him back, but money is the sticking point. Betis simply cannot afford the hefty wages of Antony. The salary is believed to be in the region of £12m a year. Although, Man Utd are desperate to get a buyer and will push for a permanent deal not another loan.

The pressure is on with less than three weeks left in the market. There is also talk of a reunion with Erik ten Hag, the manager who first brought him to join the Red Devils. But, that too looks unlikely given the financial condition.

Unless a late bidder emerges, Antony risks spending another spell on the sidelines at the Old Trafford.
