Fabrizio Romano has reported that Tottenham are speaking to Arsenal target about a potential move for Eberechi Eze.
Tottenham closing in on Arsenal target
Tottenham’s search for more spark in midfield has led them straight to Selhurst Park. Recently, Eberechi Eze has become the name on everyone’s lips.
With James Maddison sidelined after his ACL injury, Spurs are looking to bring in a new playmaker. As per Fabrizio Romano, Eze has made it clear he’s keen on a move to north London. That said, it puts the ball firmly in Tottenham’s court. Transfer talks with Crystal Palace are ongoing, and while the talks are direct and positive, the final hurdle remains money. Meanwhile, Arsenal have been linked with the Palace star for a long time. Although, the **Gunners**‘ slow activity is keeping them behind it seems.
Additionally, the Eagles are holding firm. They are pointing toward the Englishman’s £68m release clause that runs out this week. Whether Spurs agree or try to work around them will decide how this transfer story ends.
Spurs on the move
For Tottenham, the timing couldn’t be more crucial. Losing Son Heung-min to the MLS and Maddison to injury has stripped away much of the team’s creative touch. Eze, with his flair and eye for goal, could be the missing piece. The club also failed to sign Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White earlier in the window. Now, head coach Thomas Frank still wants at least one more big name in attack this summer.
Alongside City’s Savinho, Eze tops the shortlist. With just two weeks left before the window slams shut, Spurs know they can’t afford to waste time. UCL football is looming, so securing Eze could be a kind of statement signing. If they can pull out this move, it will keep them competing with the very best.
