Thomas Frank is hoping Spurs can bounce back from losing to Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup.

Spurs fans suffered a heartbreaking loss after Thomas Frank’s team lost against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup shootout. Despite a two-goal advantage in the 85th minute, Paris Saint-Germain levelled the game in added time, leading to a shootout which Paris Saint-Germain won 4-3 on penalties.

Although obviously disappointed by the match result, Spurs boss Thomas Frank said that he was nonetheless “very, very proud of the players, the team, the club, the fans,” and also said: "I think the players gave everything against one of the best teams in the world, maybe the best. I think for 75 to 80 minutes we were perfect, almost giving nothing away.

"It’s down to the smallest of margins, like the flip of a coin. I’d like to thank all the players who stepped up, were brave and took responsibility."

In June 2025, Thomas Frank joined Spurs as their Head Coach and the team issued a statement at the time which read: “We are delighted to announce the appointment of Thomas Frank as our new Head Coach on a contract that runs until 2028.

“Thomas has extensive experience in English football having joined Brentford in 2016 - since becoming one of the longest-serving current managers in the Premier League. During his time at Brentford he transformed the Club, moving them up from the Championship to an established Premier League side, consistently and significantly outperforming expectations for an extended period of time.”

In his first media engagement since taking over from Ange Postecoglou, Thomas Frank said: "I'm very clear on the principles on every phase of the game. I want us to be brave and very aggressive. I also want to attack," and also added that "Brave is absolutely linked [with] 'To dare is to do'. If you are not brave, it is difficult to achieve anything. Brave is crucial. The aggressivity is crucial if you want to win or achieve something. And you need to attack."

Spurs fans will also know that Yves Bissouma was left out of the squad against PSG for disciplinary reasons and Thomas Frank gave an update on him and said: "Bissouma was a situation, I addressed it, there was a consequence, he will be in the squad tomorrow. We move forward. We have a big game tomorrow."

As for Burnley’s Jordan Beyer who suffered a serious knee injury in December 2023, Scott Parker has given an update and told the Burnley Express that "He's back in with us. He's still going to be a few weeks, but he's heading in the right direction in and around the group now.

“But it's hugely disappointing for Jordan. The boy's been through an awful amount of disappointment and heartbreak over the last couple of years, and it’s just a real shame. But you often find that when you've been out for such a long time, sometimes you can pick up other little things.

“It's just another little setback for him. He’s a strong boy that no doubt will come back and we'll get him to the place we need to get him to.
