Everton fans have been snapping up retro football shirts ahead of their first game of the new Premier League season. The Toffees kick off the new campaign away to Leeds on Monday (August 18), and fans have been swapping the latest kit for retro Everton shirts.

Sports retailer Fanatics stocks Everton jerseys from the ‘80s, ‘90s and ‘00s, with one of the standout items being the Everton 1993/94 Third Shirt (£40). Worn during the season when the club narrowly avoided relegation on the final day, this shirt now features in the club store at the new Hill Dickinson Stadium more than 30 years later.

Also available is the Everton 1995 FA Cup Winners Shirt (£28), sported by the players as they beat Manchester United 1-0 thanks to a goal from Paul Rideout which saw them lift the trophy at the old Wembley Stadium. Other ‘90s shirts include the Everton 1990 Home Shirt (£28) and Everton 1992 Home Shirt (£28).

There’s also the Everton 1995 Black-Out Shirt (£35), designed in an all black colour scheme. Fans preferring football shirts from more recent seasons can find three anniversary reproductions of the 2003 shirts, including the Everton 2003 Anniversary Shirt (£40), Everton 2003 Away Anniversary Shirt (£40) and Everton 2003 Third Anniversary Shirt (£40).

Each of these jerseys from the club’s 2003/24 season has been crafted with accurate details and with a 3D crest and sponsor, resulting in a facsimile of the shirt worn by players like Duncan Ferguson and a young Wayne Rooney. More retro shirts can be found on the Official Everton Store, including the Everton 1990 Black-Out shirt (£35).

For those who prefer the latest Everton kit, fans can now get the Everton Castore 2025/26 Home Shirt with ‘Grealish 18’ printing (£80) as the midfielder begins his season-long spell in Merseyside. The Toffee’s latest kit comes in a royal blue colour and features a wave pattern inspired by the River Mersey that provides the backdrop for their new home ground.

Blues’ boss David Moyes is yet to confirm if Grealish will be in the squad on Monday when his side faces newly promoted Leeds. The game is set to be broadcast on Sky Sports here in the UK, with Everton fans able to secure a Sky Sports subscription from 66p per day in a deal for new customers.

Duncan Ferguson and Wayne Rooney are among the players who wore this 2003/04 shirt.

Fans took to social media following the home kit launch in June, with one fan saying: “Looks nice. The neckline is a nice throw back, reminds me of the original mid ‘80s Umbro NEC shirt back in the day.”

Not everyone was sold, as this fan said: “Worst top we’ve ever had.”

While another impressed fan said: “It’s a thumbs up for this new kit from me.”
