Nottingham Forest need to make an ‘extremely exceptional offer’ if they are to convince VfB Stuttgart to even think about selling Jamie Leweling.
That’s according to BILD, who report that Nottingham Forest have already seen a bid rejected for the 24-year-old.
A report earlier today from Sky Germany stated that Nottingham Forest had made a move for Leweling as they continue to spend and improve Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad.
That bid was reportedly rejected outright and BILD say the same, saying the offer of €20m plus €5m in bonuses wasn’t even considered by the German club.
They consider the attacker as unsellable. In fact, Stuttgart are determined to ensure that no more regular players leave their squad before the start of the season.
Only an ‘extremely exceptional offer’ would make VfB’s bosses think twice. They are in a sound financial position and no longer forced to make any sales to aid the books. This has been put across in negotiations and they’ll now only sell if they receive a significant amount of money.
Whether Nottingham Forest are willing to pay that remains to be seen but early indications are that they’ll be best serve turning their attention elsewhere.
