Rennes centre-forward Arnaud Kalimuendo (23) has been allowed to travel to England and undergo a medical with Premier League side Nottingham Forest, according to L’Equipe. The France U23 international was omitted from Habib Beye’s Rennes squad for Friday’s Ligue 1 opener against Marseille. Les Rouge et Noir defeated Roberto De Zerbi’s Phocéenscourtesy of Ludovic Blas’ injury-time winner.
Rennes and Nottingham Forest previously reached an agreement over a fixed €30m transfer fee with a further €3m in performance-related bonuses. The Ligue 1 side has also included a sell-on percentage clause. Kalimuendo will undergo a medical with Nuno Espirito Santo’s Tricky Trees before signing his contract. NFFC will host Brentford FC on Sunday at the City Ground.
