Leeds United’s search for another striker ended recently, with former Everton ace Dominic Calvert-Lewin penning a three-year deal at Elland Road.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is not the only Leeds United player to have also played for Everton, and he certainly won’t be the last. Jack Harrison is another in Leeds’ current squad, too.
Calvert-Lewin has explained why he chose Leeds over Sunderland and other Champions League offers, while the other details of how a Leeds and Calvert-Lewin agreement was agreed after a month of talks have since been revealed.
Of course, after reportedly having high wage demands to leave Everton, Calvert-Lewin signing for Leeds has been confusing to some. That’s especially significant after reports of European interest.

Joel Robles and Aaron Lennon sent Dominic Calvert-Lewin congratulations
Calvert-Lewin has already sent a defiant message to Leeds fans regarding how delighted he is to be back in Yorkshire. The former Sheffield United youngster came through the ranks at Bramall Lane before he spent nine seasons with the Toffees.
It means he featured alongside a number of different teammates during his stint at Goodison Park, including the likes of Joel Robles and Aaron Lennon.
In the comments on Instagram, Robles replied: “🙌🙌🙌😍”

In a twist of fate, the 28-year-old could yet face his former side during his first game for Leeds. Having not had a pre-season, Calvert-Lewin has addressed his fitness issues already to Leeds fans concerned.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s goal record and overall statistics
After such a long stint with Everton, Calvert-Lewin had plenty of highs and lows for the club, with 36 of his 71 goals coming in the two best seasons of his career from 2019-2021.
Team Appearances Goals Assists
Sheffield United 12 0 0
Stalybridge Celtic (loan) 5 6 0
Northampton Town (loan) 26 8 1
Everton 273 71 22
England 11 4 0
That said, he brings far more to the table than just goals. He has the physical profile to lead the line as a spearhead of Leeds’ attack. That is vital for a team who will be underdogs next term.
He has hit eight goals for Everton on three separate occasions, which still feels like the minimum requirement for Leeds, even if the goals are spread out more throughout their team.
