Newcastle United fans made their feelings towards Alexander Isak known after he missed the goalless draw away at Aston Villa.
It was not the win fans were hoping for, but the Magpies still put in a brave effort in a ground where they rarely perform well.
Newcastle United were held to a goalless draw against Aston Villa, despite Unai Emery’s side going down to 10 men with plenty of time to go. Anthony Gordon filled in for Alexander Isak, who is currently refusing to play for the Magpies in an effort to earn a move away this summer.
The 25-year-old was missing throughout pre-season and is hopeful a move to Liverpool will arise this summer. Liverpool bid £110million for Isak, an offer which was quickly turned down.
With Liverpool open to making a second bid for Isak, the Newcastle fans made their feelings clear on the Sweden international at full-time.

Some Newcastle fans are happy to sell Isak this summer, with the hope that a new striker can be signed in his place. However, the current feeling is that Isak will stay at Newcastle past this summer, and will hopefully be reintegrated into the first-team picture.
The relationship between the player and the fans has clearly soured, and the latter made their feelings known by singing two chants.
One chant, while the players were applauding the fans, they sang: “There’s only one greedy b******.”

A second, even clearer chant was: “We don’t care about Isak, he don’t care about me, all we care about, is NUFC.”

It feels a long way back for Isak at Newcastle, especially in the eyes of the fanbase.

Wherever he is, Isak would surely have been watching his team draw with Villa, thinking he could have taken some of the chances missed by his teammates.
It will be a question of ‘what if’ for as long as he is missing, should their misfortune in front of goal carry on. Isak needs to reconsider his position and help the team which he is contracted to.
After discussions with PIF, Isak has been told that he cannot leave Newcastle, a decision he has not taken a liking to. However, it is a decision he must deal with, as his move away from Tyneside becomes less likely as the days go by.
Newcastle have set a price of £150million for Isak, so Liverpool know what they have to do. Getting them to make such a big bid is a completely different story. Newcastle are in the driver’s seat in this situation, so it is down to Isak to come to realise how bad the situation has got and try and rebuild trust with the fans.
