When it became clear that Kevin Durant was leaving the Phoenix Suns, many teams across the league tried to get him, including the Miami Heat.
Now, details about Miami’s offer to the Suns have been revealed, and they were clearly willing to give up a lot.
According to Barry Jackson, via Legion Hoops, the Heat were offering Andrew Wiggins, Terry Rozier, Jaime Jaquez, Haywood Highsmith, and a 2025 first-round draft pick for Durant.
Obviously, Phoenix didn’t go for this deal and eventually worked something out with the Houston Rockets instead.

The Heat don’t often make big moves in the offseason, so this offering says a lot about how much they wanted Durant.
They were willing to part ways with some of their best players and an important future asset.
Durant and the Heat had been linked together for many years.
It feels like every single time Durant enters the trade market, the Heat are immediately talked about as a potential home for him.
But it’s never worked out, and now it feels like it never will.
Durant is going to play with the Rockets next season.
No one knows what will happen after that, and he could be on the move again, but the Heat have really bad luck when it comes to acquiring him.
With only so many more years left before retirement, Durant might not ever make his way to Miami.
They tried this summer, but they weren’t able to get it done.
Now, it feels like Durant will never be a player for the Heat.
