Report: Leeds now blockbuster deal to sign forward who outscored Ekitike and Sesko last season

Leeds United are interested in Stuttgart striker Ermedin Demirovic, who would only be available for around £35 million, according to Kicker.

Having earned promotion from the Championship as champions of the second tier, Leeds United are preparing for a return to the Premier League after a two-year absence. Manager Daniel Farke has faced struggles in the top flight in previous seasons, though the German was never backed by Norwich City like he has been at Elland Road thus far.

At the time of writing, Leeds have made eight additions to their squad, a number that could soon increase given that James Justin appears close to joining the Whites. Lucas Perri has joined as the club’s new number one and their defence has been bolstered by Gabriel Gudmundsson, Jaka Bijol and Sebastiaan Bornauw.

In midfield, United have added Anton Stach and Sean Longstaff whilst, to strengthen their attack, free agents Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha have joined. Leeds are still in the market, particularly for a winger, looking to make further additions in the final weeks of the window as, on paper, the club still need some spark in attack.

Recent reports have indicated that Leeds have lately shown an interest in one stellar Bundesliga attacker.

Leeds Keen On Demirovic

Stuttgart striker Ermedin Demirovic

Kicker have reported that Ermedin Demirovic is a player that Leeds appreciate. A Bosnian international, Demirovic joined Stuttgart from Augsburg last summer and enjoyed a stellar debut campaign. Netting 15 goals, more than recent big-money moves Benjamin Sesko and Hugo Ekitike, the 27-year-old finished the season as Stuttgart’s top scorer, though did so in a back-up role behind Deniz Undav and Nick Woltemade.

With a desire for first-team football, Demirovic is reportedly “not happy” with his current situation. Stuttgart would demand around £35 million for the forward but Leeds’ interest in him could “serve as a solution” for all parties involved.

Calvert-Lewin and Nmecha are both physical presences in the front line, but have had injury concerns in their careers. By signing Demirovic, the Whites would be recruiting a player who has not only proven himself in one of the biggest leagues in the world but has stayed fit in doing so. Demirovic, should Leeds sign him, could be a brilliant addition as the West Yorkshire side look to avoid an immediate return to the Championship.
