Liverpool have made a second offer for Alexander Isak, but could now face competition from Real Madrid in the race for the wantaway Newcastle United striker.
That's according to Richard Keys, who made two shocking revelations regarding Isak's situation amid the Swede's push to leave the Magpies. He wants to join Arne Slot's Reds, who failed with an opening bid of £110m earlier this summer.
Isak sat out Newcastle's season opener against Aston Villa on Saturday (August 16) as speculation continues to grow over a potential transfer. But it seems a move to Anfield might not be his only option should the Tyneside outfit decide to sell.

Isak has three years left on his contract at St James' Park, so Newcastle are under no pressure to sell if a club doesn't match their valuation of the striker. They are believed to be demanding a British transfer record fee of £150m to part ways with the Swede.
Keys delved into the latest developments in the transfer saga and suggested Madrid are now eyeing the former Real Sociedad man. He also claimed that Liverpool had submitted another proposal:
"I heard today that Liverpool have made a bid of £110m…a second offer of £80m now and £60m next season. But I’ve also heard that Real Madrid might be in the frame."
Madrid's interest could come as a massive blow to Liverpool should Los Blancos make a concrete move for the forward. Xabi Alonso has taken over at the Santiago Bernabeu, and the Spaniard may feel his attack needs strengthening, especially with Jude Bellingham sidelined for three months after undergoing shoulder surgery.
Newcastle may also prefer to sell to the La Liga heavyweights after missing out on one of their several top targets to the Merseyside outfit earlier this summer. They were keen on replacing Isak with Hugo Ekitike, but the reigning Premier League champions beat them to his signature in a £79m deal.
Isak's preference could be key if a transfer tug-of-war between Madrid and Liverpool were to ensue, as he appears eager to join Slot's side. He rejected proposals from Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal in July, according to Fabrizio Romano, standing firm on a move to Anfield.
Howe confirmed that there had been "no change" in the situation regarding Isak wanting out, which is why he played no part in the clash with Villa. He's been with the Magpies since August 2022, when he arrived from Sociedad in a £63m deal, growing into a "world-class" frontman, as Alan Shearer once put it.
