The Philadelphia Eagles have one of the more passionate fan bases in the NFL. We have been reminded of that time and time again with some of their antics. However, they are also not afraid to criticize their own team if they feel necessary. That appears to be what is happening just days away from the start of the 2025 regular season.

AJ Brown’s hamstring injury has not been clarified by head coach Nick Sirianni, who dodged questions about why the three-time Pro Bowler has missed training camp:
Brown’s participation in practice has followed a concerning pattern in recent days. After taking part in Sunday’s public practice at Lincoln Financial Field in front of a crowd of 50,000 fans, the receiver was limited during Tuesday’s session and completely absent from joint practices with the Cleveland Browns on both Wednesday and Thursday.
When pressed by ESPN’s Tim McManus about whether Brown had experienced a setback with his hamstring, Sirianni remained characteristically evasive.
“A.J. is working through some things,” the head coach said, adding that the team’s primary objective is ensuring all players are ready for the season opener.
The situation brings back unwelcome memories for Eagles fans, as hamstring issues have previously impacted Brown’s availability. A similar injury sidelined the dynamic receiver for three games early in the 2024 season. Brown’s injury history extends beyond hamstring problems; the veteran wideout also battled through a knee injury during the Eagles’ memorable Super Bowl run, demonstrating his commitment to playing through pain when the stakes are highest.

With the regular-season opener against the Dallas Cowboys scheduled for Sept. 4, the Eagles face a delicate balancing act. The team must weigh the benefits of having its top offensive weapon available against the risk of aggravating an injury that could linger. Sirianni’s reluctance to provide specifics about Brown’s condition suggests the organization is taking a cautious approach. The phrase “working through some things” offers little insight into the severity of the issue or the timeline for Brown’s return to full participation.
Brown’s potential absence or limited availability would be a significant challenge for an Eagles offense that relies heavily on his playmaking ability. As one of the league’s premier receivers, his presence creates opportunities for the entire offensive unit and helps establish the team’s identity in the passing game. The impact has already been evident during training camp, as the receiver’s absences have likely contributed to some of quarterback Jalen Hurts and the first unit’s struggles over five straight practices without one of its starting receivers.
