Former Maverick Luka Doncic gets injured during EuroBasket exhibition game

Luka Doncic has NBA fans in shock after he limped himself to courtside during an EuroBasket exhibition game between Slovenia and Latvia. The former Mavericks star hurt himself while contesting the guard in the third quarter of the game.

Upon closer look at the play, it seems that while Doncic was trying to keep up with the Latvian guard, he lost his balance and dropped under the rim and in the process got hurt while contacting with another Latvian forward.

Immediately after, he was seen grimacing in pain, possibly something to do with his right knee. At the sidelines, Slovenia's medical trainer was seen asking questions to the Lakers star. Moments later, he was spotted heading into the locker room.

More updates are surely to follow. Meanwhile, the Lakers fans will be holding their breath after the star guard just signed a three-year, $165 million maximum contract extension through 2028. The Lakers traded for Doncic from the Mavericks before the NBA trade deadline last season. They parted ways with their starting forward, Anthony Davis, as part of that same trade.

Doncic worked on his body during the offseason. He seems to be more leaner after questions were raised regarding his fitness levels by the Mavericks' front office. Many even picked him to be one of the best bets to win an MVP next season. It remains to be seen if Doncic's injury is minor or does it shuts him down for some months.
