Leeds United could potentially break the bank for AC Milan forward Noah Okafor in the final weeks of the transfer window.

The 25-year-old’s prospects have dwindled in recent months, and he was unable to make a mark after joining Napoli on loan in the winter transfer window.

Okafor has emerged as a target at Elland Road, and could potentially sign him for over £8.6million before the end of August.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is at Daniel Farke’s disposal for the upcoming campaign, but the West Yorkshire outfit may want to add more options up front.

Milan have rebuffed an approach from Fenerbahce for Okafor, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

The news outlet reports on 15 August that the Serie A outfit are “unwilling” to sell the Switzerland international after a strong pre-season from him.

It’s been claimed that the 25-year-old left-winger has earned trust from Massimiliano Allegri after returning from his loan spell in Naples.

Okafor joined Milan in 2023.

The forward won the Serie A title on loan at Napoli last season.

For Red Bull Salzburg, the 25-year-old scored 34 goals before moving to Italy.

Leeds may be hoping to entice Okafor to LS11 with the prospect of reigniting his career in the Premier League, but it remains to be seen how the situation will unfold.

It could potentially take a significant offer from the Whites to change Milan’s stance on the Swiss forward’s sale in the coming weeks.

The Rossoneri made an £11m investment in the 25-year-old in 2023, and his current contract at San Siro still has three years left on it.

Farke can make use of Okafor at Leeds

Leeds missed out on signing Igor Paixao from Feyenoord this summer, and they should be targeting alternative targets for the left side of the attack.

Okafor wasn’t at his best in the previous campaign, but he did show his exciting qualities in the 2023/24 season, scoring six goals in Serie A.

The Switzerland international’s versatility could also come in handy for Farke at Elland Road, with the forward capable of playing across the front line.

Going by the 25-year-old’s displays at Red Bull Salzburg, it feels like he’s at his best playing as a centre-forward, but only time will tell whether the Whites will sign the attacker.
