Manchester City are expected to reject Galatasaray’s opening offer for goalkeeper Ederson, according to a report.
The 31-year-old has entered the final year of his contract at the Etihad Stadium and speculation over his future is rife heading into the final few weeks of the summer transfer window.
Ederson was left out of Man City’s matchday squad for Saturday’s Premier League opener away against Wolverhampton Wanderers, with Pep Guardiola stating at his pre-match press conference that the is yet to indicate that he wants to leave the club.
Earlier this summer, the six-time Premier League winner had in fact expressed his desire to stay at Man City for the 2025-26 season and shut down “fake news” about his future following reports of interest from Saudi Arabia.
Despite that, Ederson continues to be linked with an exit and Turkish giants Galatasaray are now believed to be pushing to recruit the Brazil international, who is regarded as one of their main transfer targets.
According to journalistFabrizio Romano on YouTube, Galatasaray have sent their first official offer of €10m (£8.6m), but Man City will ask for a higher fee.

Man City want closer to €25m (£21.6m) from Galatasaray for Ederson
Romano claims that Man City would ‘ideally’ like to do business with Galatasaray for Ederson at around the €25m (£21.6m) mark.
The Turkish Super Lig champions are 'probably not’ prepared to reach that amount, but talks are still ongoing between both clubs, who will need to negotiate over a new fee.
In the event that Man City accept an offer for Ederson, Guardiola’s side will step up their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who looks increasingly likely to leave the French giants following a fallout over his contract.
Man City eye Donnarumma as potential Ederson replacement
The Italy international is out of contract next summer and having failed to agree terms over an extension,PSG opted to spend around €40m on Lucas Chevalier from Lille just over a week ago.
Donnarumma was omitted from PSG’s squad for their UEFA Super Cup win over Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday, and in response, the player’s agent has claimed that the club and head coach Luis Enrique have shown "zero respect" to his client.
The 26-year-old has since stated that "someone has decided that I can no longer be part of the group", and he is now expected to depart before the September 1 transfer deadline.
Despite reported interest from both Chelsea and Manchester United, Man City appear to be at the front of the queue for Donnarumma and are prepared to sign him as Ederson’s replacement, despite having already spent £27m on James Trafford this summer.
